Sue Keller is our February Student of the Month. She began riding at Greenbriar in 1999 after retiring her own horse. She had decided that riding school horses would be a great alternative to purchasing another horse again. She has ridden several horses through the years including Patches, Ernie, Glider and Jack but it is Pete who has stolen her heart! Sue enjoys riding several times a week and Pete enjoys it, too.
Recently retired, Sue is our newest Horse Lover and spends three afternoons a week at the barn. She helps with any health issues our horses might have, cleans and sweeps around the barn and helps with class changeovers. Her help is greatly appreciated.
Pete came to Greenbriar in 2014 with the name Teaspoon; that was one of the first things we changed about Pete. A beautiful palomino, he had the sweetest personality and would let you ride him but he really didn't know anything about steering or going. With Julia Pohlman in the saddle and Geline coaching they showed him that he really could go and steer, too! Now he is the favorite horse of many of our students but none more so than Sue Keller. Today he is known as Predictable Pete or Perfect Pete because he is so steady and willing to work.
