Horsemanship Skills
March 7: Know and discuss safety rules in barn, pasture and arena. Identify equine body language, including subtle signs of tension and discomfort. Catch horse in stall and pasture, with safe technique. Demonstrate safe leading from near side, both in barn and through doorways/gates. Tie horse safely, using an effective quick-release knot. Demonstrate mucking and re-bedding a stall, cleaning stall thoroughly and efficiently.
March 14: Join us for movie night at Springville Memorial Library. Featuring Spirit! Movie starts at 6pm - popcorn and candy provided!
March 28: Reassemble bridle without assistance. Clean and condition a saddle, bride, and girth, knowing reasons for each step.
Other Notes
Fun Show: Sign up for an afternoon of fun in the saddle. $60 for all three classes. Add your name and horse selection to a whiteboard to join in on the fun.
Spring Break: There will be no lessons or Horsemanship during the week of Spring Break, March 16-21. Our horses will enjoy their time off and we hope that you do the same! Lessons will resume March 23rd!
