Learning Through Our HorseSense Learning Levels
We use HorseSense Learning Levels to provide a clear path for riders to grow both in and out of the saddle.
As riders progress through each level, they gradually build their knowledge of horse behavior, anatomy, health, nutrition, equipment, safety, and daily care. Every new skill builds on the last, helping riders become more independent and more confident around horses.
Even our very first level introduces practical skills that many people don't realize are part of learning to ride.
Beginning riders learn how to:
Stay safe in the barn, arena, and pasture
Catch, lead, and safely tie a horse
Groom and prepare a horse for riding
Understand basic hoof care
Identify parts of the horse, saddle, and bridle
Recognize quality feed, hay, and water

These classes give riders dedicated time to dive deeper into topics they may not always cover during a riding lesson. From horse health and nutrition to anatomy, behavior, equipment, stable management, and horse care, riders continue expanding their knowledge as they move through the HorseSense Learning Levels.
It is one of our favorite parts of the program because we often see riders become just as excited to learn about horses as they are to ride them!
