Sometimes you just want to try something before deciding if it's right for your child. That's exactly what Tiny Trotter Camps are for!
Your child gets to spend time around horses, learn some basic horsemanship, and experience riding in a fun, age-appropriate setting without committing to weekly lessons. It can be a first step toward riding lessons, or it can simply be a fun experience they remember and talk about for weeks!
A Gentle Introduction to the Barn
For a young child, a barn can be a pretty exciting place. There are horses, new sounds, new people, and lots to take in. We don't expect our Tiny Trotters to walk in knowing what to do. They get to learn at their own pace and become comfortable with the environment along the way.
During camp, kids learn how to safely approach, groom, and lead a horse while getting to know what it's like to spend time around these incredible animals. And, of course, there is plenty of time in the saddle, too!
Learning Through Fun
At this age, learning doesn't have to feel like a lesson. Tiny Trotter Camps combine hands-on horsemanship, story time, guided activities, and riding to keep young riders engaged and having fun.
The goal is to give them enough structure to learn important skills while still letting them enjoy the experience of being at the barn. They might be learning how to groom a horse one minute and listening to a horse story the next. Then it's time to head into the arena! It's all part of creating a positive first experience with horses.
Perfect for Curious or Nervous Kids
Not every child walks into a barn ready to hug a horse. Some are fascinated but a little unsure. Others need time to watch before they're ready to participate. That's completely okay!
Tiny Trotter Camps give children the opportunity to become comfortable around horses without feeling like they have to be fearless from the beginning. With gentle instruction and plenty of encouragement, they can gradually build trust and confidence both on the ground and in the saddle.
